Thanks to School Board Member Liza Normandy for sharing the highlights of last evening’s meeting. We will continue to share more information as it comes to us.
1.) SUNSHINE GARDENS PRINCIPAL
The Board has postponed the decision on the appointment of the Sunshine Gardens principal position.
2.) COMMON CORE
Dr. Shawnterra Moore and SMCOE Coordinator Marco Chavez presented an update and timeline for Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in the District. While much work is still needed to meet the 2014-2015 CCSS implementation goal, SSFUSD is ahead of other districts in the transition process. 3.) ADOPTION OF THE BUDGET
The Board adopted the preliminary 2013-2014 budget and multi-year projections for 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.
4.) REINSTATEMENT OF D.O. POSITION
The Board approved the reinstatement of a morning receptionist position at the District Office front desk, working 3.75 hours per day. This position is in addition to the current part time receptionist who works the afternoons only.
5.) SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
The annual “Welcome Back” meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 13, at 8:00 a.m. in the SSFHS auditorium.
