SSFPD; Hit and Run Major Injury Collision

South San Francisco, CA August 20, 2013

On Monday, August 19, 2013 at around 3:15 PM, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to the 400 block of Cabot Road on the report of a roll-over vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they located an injured passenger inside of the vehicle and were advised by witnesses that the driver and two other passengers fled the scene on foot The injured passenger was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

Witnesses to the collision provided officers with descriptions of the driver and the two passengers. Employees from a nearby business observed the tluee subjects fleeing the area on foot and they were reportedly last seen hiding behind some bushes near the San Francisco Bay. Officers responded to the area and detained all three subjects without incident. One of the subjects, later identified  as Juan Garcia, was determined to be the driver who fled the scene of the traffic collision. Garcia was placed under arrest and booked at the San Mateo County Jail for felony hit and run and being an unlicensed driver. Garcia is an 18 year old busboy and his bail was set at $50,000
