GENENTECH Shelter In Place Lifted

South San Francisco, CA October 25, 2013SSF Birthplace of Biotech

Today Genentech buildings #82 and #83 were said to have been issued a Shelter in Place as police performed foot pursuit seeking 2 adult males that maybe have been involved in a shooting. The warning was lifted at 2pm per an employee.

“Apparently there was an incident on the highway (word is a shooting?) and the suspects ended up in the Gateway campus area. SSF/SF PD got ’em.” Alicia Marie Sciancalepore shared on our Facebook page. Megan Brogger shared “2 men involved in sf shooting were chased into ssf.”  Patrick Tiu added “Apparently they found the suspects in b84 bathroom. Now they’re sweeping the area looking for the guns”

Mark Thaler posed a good question, “Forgive my ignorance, but what is Shelter in Place?” and a good answer was provided by Mary De Luca Castech “shelter in place means not to move .stay where you are and find hiding place ie locked doors in conference rooms etc…but you are NOT supposed to move around or go into stairwells etc.”

The official information below was provided by Steven Douglas.
