South San Francisco, CA: The South San Francisco Professional Firefighters are pleased to announce their endorsements for South San Francisco City Council on November 5, 2013.

“The South San Francisco Firefighters are endorsing candidates who have a plan to keep South San Francisco a strong community and a great place to live,” said Todd Rael, President. “We believe strong public safety and City services are essential to that plan.”

After an endorsement process, they have endorsed Mark Addiego, Pradeep Gupta, and Liza Normandy for the full term Council seat. They declined to make an endorsement for the two year seat.

“City Hall must be our partner in keeping our community safe by making sure firefighters have the tools, training, and resources necessary to do our jobs,” Rael continued. “These three candidates understand that public safety isn’t just another line item in the city budget, but are committed to this primary responsibility of city government.”

South San Francisco Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1507 is the association that represents the employees of the South San Francisco Fire Department.

Very sad that our Fire Department has decided to not allow the
Endorsement process to take place for the 2 year seat . As a candidate
For the 2 year seat it is important to me that they should understand who
Has their back and who don’t . What we Really need for them and who
will fight hard for them . On that note they made it unfair to the candidates
Running for the 2 year seat. Maybe they should have took the same position
As our Police department and just stayed neutral .
