SSFPD Media Release; PGE Imposter Strikes With Phone Scam Sept 2013

South San Francisco, CA  October 23, 2013 Submitted by SSFPD

Although this scam PG&E phone scam appears to have happened in September, our Police Department just now released the Media Bulletin. Yesterday Everything South City warned our neighbors about possible Comcast Impersonators as reported by those who live in our community. Never give out personal information. When in doubt contact the company by using the phone number provided on your bill – do not use the phone number they give to you if you are suspicious. Contact the police so they can keep records to track when things become a trend or if the appear to be an isolated situation. Talk to your neighbors, to those at local functions, grocery stores, school and church events to see if they have had suspicious phone calls or knocks at their door. Share information with each other and help keep our city safe for all.
