School Board Seeking New Trustees; HOCH & NORMANDY RESIGN

South San Francisco, CA    November 22, 2013

School board trustee Liza Normandy has won her bid for city council which now leaves a void on the school board. Normandy will be sworn into her new position of city council on Tuesday December 3rd 7pm at the MSB 33 Arroyo, along with the full council re-organization.

Just as the board was making arrangements to accept applications for the vacated position the news hit that long time trustee Shirley Hoch has also has turned in resignation papers.  Shirley has been serving on our school board for over two decades and has been a great advocate for our students. Having gone through some huge medical challenges (strokes), Shirley has worked hard with her rehab and was fully active with our board once again.  Shirley had one year left on her term.  She will be dearly missed.

The board now has two positions to be filled by appointment for the one year terms vacated by Liza and Shirley. In November there will be three seats on the ballot: Hoch, Normandy, Weise.

For those interested in serving our community during these very challenging, and rewarding,  times, the district website offered this information:
