Music Around the Mountain; Live music in local venues finds great success

South City folks are very fortunate to have some of the greatest musicians performing locally around the base of San Bruno Mountain. Dennis Cummings has been booking some big names at our great historic jaunts like  South City’s Standby, Brisbane’s Club 23 and the 7 Mile House on Bayshore.  Each night brings something different as Cummings works to bring heavy hitters such as Kelly Rock, Al Molina, and Melo B to local stages.  In addition each club offers other entertainment including karaoke, big screen TV sporting events, and awesome DJ’s, not to mention great drinks. And food!

This Thursday’s line up includes the Blues at the 7 Mile House with Carlos Zialcita and the Eldorado Blues Band performing.  Excellent food & drink specials are also offered and you have to try their adobe – it’s the best!

The South City watering hole, The Standby, will be presenting Kelly Rock on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month as part of their Thursday Live Music Line Up. The “Kelly Rock Live” performs live R&B, hip hop, and reggae from 9p to 1am.  It is not unusual to see the BBQ cooking up some great food on the weekends and there always seems to be plenty of food to help soak up the great drinks.

Brisbane’s Club 23 features different venues on different nights with an open mic jam on Wednesdays and local artists showcasing their delights monthly.  This upcoming Saturday ‘Bubbles on Fire Burlesque‘  which has excellent  reviews.

Close to home and part of our local history, neighbors meet up and enjoy good times with great music.  Remember to always have a designated driver assigned before heading out to enjoy a night out on the town.
