The Gellert Marketplace to open Fall 2014

South San Francisco, CA January 24, 2014sprouts

A while back we had heard rumors of a Sprouts Store opening on Gellert in Daly City. Thanks to Katrina Hernandez for sharing the information on the development as many have wondered why Circuit City and Office Depot had been demolished.  This 140,000 sf development is set to open in Fall of 2014.  Below we share the plans from Cross Point Realty Services for this Daly City location.

Sprouts has many stores in California and this will be the first location on the Peninsula. The best way to describe them is ‘Whole Foods’ with Safeway prices. This will soon be a regional favorite.

The Gellert Marketplace issues parking tickets higher price than the fines of the local munincipality. If you shop here you have to worry about and take note of the time when you shop and go get something to eat so you do not get issued a parking ticket.
Now I have to worry if they are going to send me to collections.
I hope this is not a privatization of enforceable penalties like red light cameras.

The administration of Gellert Crosspointe Center needs to seriously consider putting traffic lights or some other mechanism for motor vehicle control INSIDE the center’s parking lot–for weekends. The sheer misery of trying to negotiate and navigate that parking lot on a weekend is enough to make me avoid Sprouts, my new favorite store! Stop signs won’t be enough. Very poorly designed center for pedestrians, too.

THERE ISN’T ENOUGH PARKING TO SERVICE THIS PART OF GELLERT. WHAT ABOUT THE SPACE NEEDED TO MANEUVER LARGE TRUCKS IN THIS AREA? WASN’T THIS AREA ON SAND?

The traffic at 280 SB to serromonte is already terrible, this is only going to make it worse. Are there any plans to improve the exit from the highway? The metering light from HWY1 doesn’t help..its nearly pointless. The other side of the overpass where chipotle and starbucks are is very much a disaster waiting to happen. People will get in crashes for sure.
