Project Description: This project will widen all northbound US 101 off-ramps at South Airport Boulevard, Grand Avenue, and Oyster Point Boulevard to increase capacity and enhance safety of the ramps. The project also includes civil infrastructure improvements on major City streets including South Airport Boulevard, Grand Avenue, Dubuque Avenue, and Oyster Point Boulevard.
Major elements of the project include:
- Roadway widening
- Roadway excavation and embankment fill
- Installation and modification of traffic signals
- Sidewalk, median and curb ramp improvements
- Storm drain work
- Overhead sign structure and foundation construction
- Installation of metal beam guardrail and concrete barrier
- Landscape and irrigation work, and
- Asphalt concrete pavement work
Project Duration: Construction work is scheduled to start on September 2, 2013, and should be substantially complete by the end of summer 2014.
Public Safety and Access: The City, Caltrans and project team are working closely together to minimize disruption to traffic flow on the highly traveled US 101 corridor.
