On Sunday, February 9th, 2014 at 9:23 am, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to a local supermarket parking lot at 1015 El Camino Real (Pacific Market Shopping Ctr) on a report of a hit & run collision. A concerned citizen observed a vehicle strike a metal barrier and flee the scene. The witness provided a detailed description of the driver and vehicle which led to an apprehension several blocks away. The driver was identified as South San Francisco resident, Timothy Green Sr. Officers determined that Green was driving under the influence of alcohol and on a suspended driver’s license. Green was arrested for DUI, leaving the scene of a collision, driving with a suspended license and had his vehicle impounded. South San Francisco Police Officers were familiar with Green due to the fact this was his third DUI arrest within 8 weeks. Green was booked into the San Mateo County Jail with a request to decline his release based on public safety concerns. Law Enforcement continues to encourage the public to call “911” if you suspect someone of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
