SSFPD make arrest- Vehicle pursuit, Attempted carjacking, possession of illegal drugs and stolen property
On March 9th, 2014 at approximately 3:40 P.M., South San Francisco Police Officers attempted to stop a green Honda Accord for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, 32 year old Michael Finley, unemployed and from Pacheco CA, failed to stop for police and attempted to elude capture by fleeing at a high rate of speed through city streets. Finley continued his attempt to evade police by driving the wrong way onto Highway 10l ‘s southbound Grand Avenue exit.
Upon entering the wrong way on the off-ramp, Finley collided with another vehicle and then continued to flee on foot. Finley then attempted to enter and car-jack three occupied vehicles on the off-ramp before being detained by California Highway Patrol and South San Francisco Police Officers. No persons were injured as a result of the collision. Finley was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and stolen property. The California Highway Patrol investigated the collision and Finley was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
