Kaiser Permanente awards El Camino High Senior a scholarship to college.
The annual South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce scholarship luncheon was held Thursday at Dominic’s Banquets Hall at Oyster Point. 22 students were awarded scholarships. Among them, Melissa Tiong, a senior at El Camino High School in South San Francisco, who received a $1,000 scholarship from Kaiser Permanente.
Representing the health organization was Sheila Fusaro, Assistant Medical Group Administrator and Chamber Board member. Kaiser Permanente annually sponsors a scholarship for a local youth.
Ms. Tiong was excited by the scholarship award and says she plans on attending the University of California at Davis in the fall. She plans to study molecular and cellular biology and bio-medical engineering.
