South San Francisco High School is once again seeking a Principal. Anthony Limoges started with South City High in 2011 and will not be returning in the fall. In 2013 Dr. Limoges had applied for the position of Iowa’s State Director of the Department of Education in 2013 although he was not accepted for that position. His leaving was not a surprise to many as they realized Limoges had higher aspirations.
The Principal position requires an applicant to possess a valid California Teaching Credential, California Administraive Services Credential and a Master’s Degree. In addition 5 years of classroom teaching experience is required, including at least four years at the secondary level in an administrative capacity. Salary is between $117,470-$134,636 plus district contributions towards benefits, based on experience. Application deadline is July 11, 2014. More information HERE
His leaving has not been a real surprise to many yet it puts our district back in the search for a qualified person to be hired before the 2014/15 school year. Prior to his time with SSFHS, Limoges worked in San Diego running juvenile court schools. Currently we do not have information where Dr. Limoges will next call home.
In 2011 Assistant Principal Cheryl Lana left South City High for a position as Principal at Alliance Academy in the Oakland School District.
Every one of my colleagues that left in the past 3 years included Limoges as being one of the reasons they left. Let’s hope the next one will be more collaborative and respect our amazing teachers. But, in the mean time, let’s get Weise out this November election, and have new EDUCATED Board members. We’ll work on getting King Goodman out in 2 years. Ironic that we have an overbearing bully as our board president. Goodmans kids were a nightmare and he used all his power to pull strings, twist arms and other shady activities. Goodmans latest was to have Coach Oca re-apply for the head coaching position so Goodmans buddy could apply. Goodman and Weise have got to go if we want strong, transparent, ethical leadership from the top. Tell everyone you know living in South City to vote this November, and if we bounce Weise, Goodman will know he’s next.

I wish you parents knew the power you have to influence your child’s education. Why are you speaking out only now? Next time, speak up instead of waiting until it’s all over.
It does not take a Doctorate degree to be a great leader, a role model, a believer in education, and person that has best interest of children in mind, stemming to basics of what we are taught as small children – RESPECT ! We should all be offended by actions of those in charge not taking a close look at hiring of Administrators, teachers, coaches, etc. We are a community that deserves better than what we have had in past! Luckily, SSFHS for most part has wonderful dedicated teachers and cannot imagine what they endured during Limoge presence at SSFHS. I’m assuming it was easier to accept resignations from those great Counselors, Vice Principals, and teachers who have departed than to have seen the bigger picture of root of the problem.
I believe parents, students and teachers should have a voice in hiring selection of next Principal.
Our children deserve better! Please advocate for them, if not doing so already. We do have a powerful voice!! I hear time and time again “I am afraid to speak up.” Why? Bypass Superintendent and Board offices. We have San Mateo County Board of Education….all the way up to CA State Office of Education, if need be about any concerns!! Do our children not deserve a high level education, to say the least? Do they not deserve to be in a safe environment? Ask yourselves what are we paying for (yes, we all pay, either directly or indirectly)? Also, keep in mind whom is in charge of administering programs and has control of budget? Why settle for a person that is only there for a paycheck?
I had never in my life met a questionable Doctorate-titled Administrator as Limoge. Worse than other Doctorate degree politician figure Principal once at Parkway. All it took was just one meeting to know who Limoge was! I just cannot understand why others higher up did not see it? I’m guessing because branch does not fall too far from tree. Time to be even more assertive in what we want for our children !
It`s about time…….This guy was useless!! Nothing good when he was here and now we`re short great educators. It`s sad that my son and lots of others had to endure this guy. Please find someone who CARES about are children future!! It`s really not that hard..Hopefully Mr.Hogan
and Mr.Goodman will fill this position with someone that really wants to see are children advance!! Good luck SSF
Well it’s been clear to many that he was on the way out anyway. He never really seemed to be present and his type of hands-off leadership style will NOT be missed. I just hope the next silver-tongued genius they higher has the common courtesy to create a 5 year plan so the school isn’t left high and dry like it is now. Because, in the end, it’s the students that lose out. While we’re a stepping stone on his way to higher (paying) things, our school will be trying to re-adjust after losing several of it’s best teachers, many of whom left because of him. People come, people go, we get it; but leaving the school worse off than what it was is just wrong and I refuse to drink the kool-aid and pretend he did a great job, it was mediocre at best and the students deserve better.
Oh, and he’s going to Elk Grove to be an assistant superintendant.
Considering a new assistant principal was just hired at South City last week, it’s going to be a challenging year with a whole new administrative regime on B Street. Hope it all shakes out OK.
….and let’s not forget the nearly 20 exceptional educators who quit the school this summer, most for reasons not related to salary. Most, long time veterans who just finally gave up on the district and the school.
