Downtown Tree Planting Event A Success

South San Francisco, CA    November 12, 2014  Submitted by Tom Carney, SSF Safety Inspector

The Community Preservation Task Force (CPTF) cleanup and tree planting event was a great success on 11/08/2014. Over fifty volunteers took part. Thanks to all CPTF members for getting the word out and Police Officer Sean Curmi for getting the word to the SSF High Schools. The event would not be a success if it was not for the volunteers who take time out of their day to make it happen. Please check on Linden and see the nice trees that was planted.

1.    Twenty trees planted on Linden Avenue from Baden & Linden to Dollar which is about one mile long. Pictures to follow

2.    Large amount of weeds, debris, junk, sofas, box springs removed

3.    Graffiti removed and painted over

4.    Again thanks to ZARC for the donation to help pay for the trees

5.    Again thanks to Bimbo Bakery for providing lunch

PLEASE NOTE CPTF MEETINGS ARE HELD ON THE 2ND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH AT 33 ARROYO DRIVE IN THE BETTY WEBER ROOM ADJACENT TO THE ATRIUM AT NOON UNTIL 1PM. MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN. MORE ON CPTF EVENTS CLICK HERE

Sadly too many neighbors see our streets as a place to dump their garbage. Thank you to these youth who helped clean it up.
