Storm warnings were realized through out the night as reports show 4+ inches of rain so far. As of noon today the US National Weather Service stated ‘The heaviest rain band has passed through the (BAY) area but light to moderate rain continues across the region this afternoon and flooding remains a concern.’ They warn another system is expected to come through on Sunday however it will be less intense.
The South San Francisco Unified School Board has decided to cancel classes again tomorrow as well as any planned school activities. The School Board Meeting this evening has also been postponed.
It appears Francisco Terrace needed the most assistance as our emergency services were stretched across town all night and day long. Our City Manager Mike Futrell and his family have made their home in this neighborhood. Futrell comes to us from the State of Louisiana and is well versed in Emergency Response, especially with his military backgroun. Futrell was involved in the emergency and recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Our City Staff is trained and ready and with Futrell at the lead we should all do well. Stay tuned for more updates.
