Question from Carey Wykoff “What was the big march down Mission street this morning? I ran to 7-11 around 7am and there were hundreds of walkers all over the place. Unfortunately everybody that I approached didn’t speak English and couldn’t tell me. I asked the workers at 7-11 and all they could tell me was “I don’t know, they do it every year but I don’t know what it is about.” 93.3 La Raza radio station had a bus, the cops seemed to be escorting the walkers and it seemed like a pretty big deal. All very peaceful, quiet and family friendly. Now I want to know what their cause was.”

Loren Yes, all the buses were idling at the church at 4am. Nice.

Christina They do it every year at this time! It’s pretty cool to see! They go right past my place! Unfortunately one car on Willow Ave that was waiting to turn left started to get impatient & lay on the horn & yell come on hurry up! Very rude! And peeps were telling her to stop! Even the medic guy on the bike was like come on lady plz its a parade you just hafta wait! Merry Christmas to her! Smh

Teena My son and I did it one year. Its starts at dawn. Very big within Latino and even Philipino Catholic Church communities. Celebrating our Lady of Guadalupe.

Vinny I would need a better reason to get up that early on a Saturday…

Juliana Well you’re obviously not Catholic, it’s a big deal in our community. Only people with true faith do it. Have a great day

Juliana Have been doing it for the past 8 years, it’s a great experience. Just got home, my feet are throbbing and sore but all well worth it. Faith moves mountains.

Carey Wykoff  Thanks all!!!
