Food Scraps Collection Program is Here!
Come learn about the new food scrap collection program being offered by the South San Francisco ScavengerCompany. Starting January 2015, residents can recycle food scraps and food-soiled paper along with yard trimmings in the green cart. Peels, scraps from kitchen prep, leftovers, napkins, paper cups… all of these items will from now on feed our new anaerobic digester instead of the landfill! The digester generates compost and clean fuel to power our collection trucks.
This free event will take place Thursday, January 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the South San Francisco Main Public Library.
Will people who live in a apartment complex receive green bins for our table scraps?
