Four South San Francisco Unified School District students have won prestigious California State National History Day awards.

Three South San Francisco High School pupils; James Fong, Alexander Wong and Jesse Angelo Pangilinan  captured their award in the Documentary Category. Jerrod Yee of El Camino High School received his honor in the Historical Paper Category.

The District is one of the few in the state with two senior entries moving on to national judging. The District youngsters were competing this month in Rocklin against more than 1,000 students from 220 schools.

National History Day competition will be held in Maryland June 12 to 14. A fund-raising effort to send the three South San Francisco High pupils to the East Coast next month has begun. The “gofundme” link can be found at CLICK HERE.
