HIP Housing has given free, long-term support to those who need it most in San Mateo County for 42 years. NEW: HIP Housing has received funding to provide an incentive to persons who have rooms for rent in San Mateo County. The incentive is $250 and is given 90 days after a home sharing client moves in with a home provider. If you know someone who has a room to rent, now is the time to put that extra spare room to good use, earn extra monthly income and receive an additional thank you bonus!
HOMES SHARES FOR RENT
Daly City- Furnished or unfurnished room for one person in a 4-bedroom 3 bath home. Home is owned by a couple who enjoy outdoor activities. There is street parking, laundry access and it is close to public transportation. The rent is $725 and the deposit is
$725. Tenant must be clean and quiet.
Daly City- Unfurnished room for one person in a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. Owner is a senior living with her adult grandson in the home. They have two small dogs but will cannot have more pets. There is laundry, street parking and storage available and the home is close to public transportation. Rent is $1000 a month and deposit is $500. Outside smoker ok.
East Palo Alto- Four bedroom 2.5 bath home available for four female tenants to share. Rent will be $1,005 per room. Outside smoking ok. No pets. Shared utilities however extra utilities will not be assessed on tenants if all the rooms are not full.
San Bruno- Three bedroom one bath home has a bedroom available for one occupant. Home will be shared with two other people. Rent will be $600.00 with a $200.00 deposit. The room can be either furnished or unfurnished. There is street parking and the home is close to public transportation, the Tanforan shopping center, and the airport. No smoking and no pets.
San Mateo– Large, 1200 sq ft. two bedroom, one bath apartment (a flat) has an unfurnished bedroom available for one occupant to share in the home with the home provider. Rent will be $800.00 with an $800.00 deposit. The apartment is on an older cul de sac, with hardwood floors, a fireplace, lots of light, and a vintage kitchen. There are laundry facilities, off-street parking, and access to public transportation. Outside smoking ok. There are three cats, and the provider may be willing to accept another.
San Mateo– Two bedroom, one bath apartment has a bedroom available for one occupant to share with in the home with the provider. Rent will be $1100.00 with a $600.00 deposit. The room can be either furnished or unfurnished. Kitchen and laundry facilities are available, as well as utilities, street parking, and access to public transportation. Outside smoking ok. Homeowners are willing to accept a County Moving to Work voucher.
San Mateo– Large, 1740 sq ft. four bedroom, two bath home, has two unfurnished bedrooms available for one occupant to share in the home with the provider. Rent will be $1495.00 with a $1495.00 deposit. Utilities are shared. Laundry facilities are available, as well as a private bath, plenty of street parking, and access to public transportation. This is a quiet neighborhood with a nearby park that has tennis, basketball, and softball facilities, and hiking trails. No smoking. Would like a housemate who is considerate, respectful, clean, professional, understanding, helpful, trustworthy and quiet.
South San Francisco– Three bedroom, two bath home, has one bedroom available for one occupant to share in the home with the provider. Rent will be $700.00 with a $700.00 deposit. Utilities are shared at $75.00 a month, and there are kitchen and laundry facilities available, street parking, and access to public transportation. Nice area. No smoking and no pets.
South San Francisco– Four bedroom, two and a half bath home, has one furnished bedroom available for one occupant to share in the home. Rent will be $700.00 with a $700.00 deposit. Utilities are shared, and there are kitchen and laundry facilities available, as well as storage and street parking. Excellent neighborhood. There is no smoking. Housemate should have good character, and be clean, honest and compassionate.

Male looking for room to rent for $1500 or less between Brisbane and Redwood City. He is a non-smoker who has no pets but will live with a pet. He just relocated to SFO due to his job with United Airlines. In his spare time he likes to donate to charitable causes and do yoga. He doesn’t cook very often, is quiet and watches some TV. He is looking to live with someone friendly who enjoys life.
