On 06/05/2015 at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to an auto versus pedestrian collision on the 200 block of North Access Road. The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle struck a pedestrian while backing out of a parking space. The pedestrian was treated at the scene by the South San Francisco Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as South San Francisco resident, David Dufficy, a multiple DUI offender, was contacted and determined to be driving on a suspended license and under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Dufficy was subsequently arrested for felony DUI of alcohol and drugs causing injury and DUI with priors and was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
