SSFUSD Board Agrees to Hike Employee Salaries/Benefits

South San Francisco, CA   June 26, 2015    Submitted by John Horgan SSFUSD SSFUSD logo color

The South San Francisco Unified School District Board of Trustees has agreed to new two-year contracts with its employee unions that increase salaries and benefits.

The agreements with bargaining groups representing teachers and classified workers will boost salaries by 5 percent per year in both 2015-16 and 2016-17 and add $200 per month per employee to health and welfare packages, beginning July 1, 2016, in addition to other improvements.

Additionally, the trustees, at their June 25 meeting, agreed to provide its non-union personnel (administrators and others) with the same salary and benefit increases over the next two fiscal years.

All of the votes by the trustees were unanimous. The memberships of the employee unions approved the contract terms earlier in the spring.

Great things are happening to our city schools, and this is one of them. We will be the envy of neighboring cities with the expanded student partnership with Genentech that our scientists of tomorrow will be getting their start in SSF.

As a graduate from SSFHS this is a most satisfying improvment! Hope this raises some smiles for our teachers at SSFHS as they are all hard working dedicated teachers who never doubt their students! Shout out to Ms. Franceschi, our amazing Italian teacher who makes learning a want for more!
