South San Francisco, CA July 21, 2015 Submitted by Rebecca Kleinsmith Samaritan House
Back-to-school will be a lot more fun for more than 400 San Mateo children, thanks to Samaritan House’s 3rd annual Back-to-School Giveaway.
This Friday, July 24, 2015, from noon-4 pm, hundreds of families will enjoy music, balloons, food and fun in addition to the Back-to-School Giveaway. This great photo opportunity will be held on the patio of the Kids’ Closet, Samaritan House’s free clothing for children program. Eligible children include kids in grades K-12 whose families are registered to utilize services at Samaritan House. Each child will receive a brand-new, fashionable backpack full of school supplies! Children will also take home a free book with their new backpacks and some kids will even receive a pair of back-to-school shoes.
Samaritan House is grateful for the generous support of two major supporters of the Backpack Giveaway: Open Door Church of San Mateo and Public Works, each of which has donated more than 75 backpacks chock full of much needed school supplies.
Backpacks, school supplies, and $15 Payless Shoes gift cards are still needed! Donations will continue to be collected through Thursday, July 23rd. They can be dropped off between 9 am. 5 pm. at the main office, 4031 Pacific Boulevard, 3rd floor, in San Mateo. Donation receipts will be happily provided.
