Tired of wondering what people are thinking of your brown lawn these days? Time to be proud and use these **FREE** “Brown is the New Green” signs. In fact, send us a picture of your lawn and be proud of the fact that you’re doing your part to conserve water! Feel free to stop by City Hall at 400 Grand (upstairs) and ask for Leslie or Jasmine and we can give you a sign.
For more information contact conservewater@ssf.net
Can I purchase a sign? I live in Porterville, Ca. and I would love to have this in my yard.
Hi Brandy,
To request a sign, please go to CLICK HERE or contact Porterville Department of Public Works to see if they may have some for residents there. You can email Porterville DPW via this link CLICK HERE
We wish rain to come to us all, and especially to the good folks in your town.
Thank you.

Gene is correct. Too many people are letting weeds take over and using the drought to give them an excuse for not maintaining their yards.
Brown may be the new green, but what I’m seeing is neglect as the new green. Weeds still have to be pulled or mowed down.
We should use ‘graywater’ the relatively clean waste water from baths, sinks, washing machines, and other kitchen appliances for the yard. Cities are encouraging using greywater.
