The Centennial Village development to be built at 180 El Camino Real in South San Francisco has been delayed while some fine tuning is completed as designs for specific businesses are being completed. The tentative dates reflect a 7-month delay in construction, from September 2015 to April 2016. The project will be going before the Planning Commission and City Council to ask for modification to the Development Agreement possibly this August. The developer anticipates submitting construction plans in October and starting demolition in December. Construction would then begin in February or March of 2016.

Safeway will be returning and reports state CVS most probably will as well. A gym and Ross store are also expected among other businesses in this mixed use development. South City resident, Lucinda Denning who works at CVS, has reported a sign in the old Safeway announcing the Halloween Store will once again take up temporary residence during this 2015 season.

Another Ross store? Too many discount stores such as Ross, Nordstrom Rack, Grocery Outlet, etc nearby neighboring cities all within 2 or 3 miles. Should serve everyone. Get Whole Foods, Nordstrom, Cheesecake Factory in. Can’t find anything nice around here. Have to go to San Mateo for that.

Please make the gym a City Sport. It would go perfect there.

With this new development what are they going to do for the traffic and with more water use. What about the flooding that will happen? Why don’t they fix that first before more developement goes in. We get all the run off coming down from the Brentwood area and down Spruce.
