The South San Francisco Code Enforcement Div. has received multiple complaints about shoes and clothes donation bins placed throughout the City.  The bins, similar to the one in the pictures below, invite illegal dumping.  These bins are placed on private property, sometimes without permission from the property owner.  Generally, these bins are allowed by-right as long as certain conditions can be met, as stated in the Zoning Ordinance. For larger recycling facilities, the property owner must obtain a Conditional and/or Minor Use Permit from the SSF Planning Division, 315 Maple Ave., SSF, prior to allowing a bin to be placed on their property.  Once the proper permit is obtained, the property owner is responsible for maintaining the donation bin and the area surrounding the bin.  Please call the Code Enforcement hotline at (650) 829-6682 to report unmaintained donation bins and illegal dumping.

12 bags of garbage OR
6 bags of garbage and ONE large item-sofa, mattress, appliance, etc.

Please note that special handling fees will apply to televisions, computer monitors, and other electronics. Already used your two free clean ups? Click here to schedule a paid pickup.

Ready to start? Call us at 650.589.4020.
