Birthday Celebrations for South San Francisco Underway Now

Happy Birthday!

What’s Going On RIGHT Now:
* DIGITAL PICTURE:
Be part of our “Faces of the Community” digital picture. Go to the MSB until September 8th

and take your picture at the “Buzzy Booth” in the atrium. On Sep. 8th (afternoon), the booth will be moved to the Main Library

, where you can take your picture until September 19th. On September 19th, all of the photos will be put into a collage and displayed as a digital photo of South San Francisco and unveiled at the Birthday Party at Fernekes at 12:30pm.
Week of September 14th – 19th:
* Small packaged candy from Gimbal’s will be distributed, along with miniature city flags, at:
  • Grand Ave. and Orange Ave. Libraries
  • Parks & Recreation front desk
  • Police Station
  • Fire Station #61
  • Permit Center
  • Engineering
  • City Clerk’s office
  • City Manager’s office
* Check out City Hall lit up at night
* Learn about your City’s History on Facebook – tidbits provided all weekSeptember 19th – Citywide Birthday Celebration:

Please join us on Saturday, September 19th, for a Birthday Celebration at Farmers’ Market/Fernekes Building
* 9am: Get involved! Participate in one of two Coastal Clean Ups:
  • Utah Ave. bridge
  • End of Haskins Way
* 10am – 2pm: Farmers’ Market
    Activities for children:
  • Face painter
  • Balloon artist
  • Bouncing house
  • Learning Wheels will be handing out free books
* 12:30pm: Birthday Celebration with the Mayor at Fernekes Building
  • Join us as Mayor Richard Garbarino shares the “Faces of Our Community” digital picture, a new video about the City and cuts the first piece of our birthday cake! Who doesn’t love cake?
* 1:00pm: A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Orange Park Sculpture Garden
