SSF Lots going for $300- $550 Need transport back to 1907

South San Francisco, CA     September 1, 2015   Submitted by Historical Society of South San Francisco

A little fun from our Facebook page today

Anyone interested in buying a lot in ‪#‎SSF‬ – pricing between $300-550 which includes streets, sidewalks, sewer, water ….. you just need Bullwinkle’s Way Back Machine to take you to 1907!
Big thanks to Historical Society of South San Francisco for this share:
With the so much growth and new development happening around what used to be our little borough, let’s harken back to a time when people were practically paid to come and make SSF their home.

This ad from the 1907 San Francisco Call boasts the advantages of building your home in South San Francisco:

• “Streets, sidewalks, sewers and water are included in the
price of your lot.”

• “South City is today what many of the new towns hope to be
in the next twenty years. Several subdivisions within a radius
of four miles of South City are claiming the factories and many
advantages which are located here.”

And by the way, “Don’t mistake it for the Potrero district of San Francisco.”
