SSF Public Library Reaches Out to Children Evacuated Due to Butte Fire

SSF Public Library Logo UPDATE from our South San Francisco Public Library “The children and their families that were evacuated are no longer at the Casino, which is great news for them. In light of this, the South San Francisco Public Library will no longer be able to do the storytime or hand out the free books. Thank you for the support”

The South San Francisco Public Library is partnering with Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort in Jackson, CA, to provide a story time and book giveaway for children who have been evacuated due to the Butte Fire. This story time will take place at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort’s evacuation center on Friday, September 18th at 1:00 PM.

Currently South San Francisco Firefighters are deployed on strike teams assisting in the Butte Fire which has burned a total of 71,780 acres and is 45% contained as of this date. This fire started on September 9th east of Jackson ans has destroyed 233 residences. For more info on this fire CLICK HERE
