The South San Francisco Unified School District Board of Trustees honored Monte Verde Elementary School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary during the Board’s Sept. 10 meeting. Monte Verde, located at 2551 St. Cloud Drive in San Bruno, was founded in 1965. The school’s current principal, Debby Mirt, provided the Board and audience with a presentation regarding Monte Verde’s implementation of Common Core’s academic standards as well as a report on the school’s overall climate and culture, among other matters.
