Join financial industry experts and me to learn how to manage money in the 21st century. Presentations on money management and education financing will be followed by a Q&A/discussion.

Presenters will include:

Larry Pon, CPA/PFS, CFP, EA, USTCP / Pon & Associates

Larry Pon helps his clients reach their financial goals through thoughtful tax and financial planning.  His practice specializes in tax planning, tax preparations, and tax representation for individuals and small businesses.  In addition to his practice, he volunteers as a Money Doctor for 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy and teaches a Personal Finance class at Carlmont High School.

Darrell M. Young, CPA, CFP, CIMA / Poplar Global Wealth Management LLC

Darrell Young has worked in financial services since 1997. In 2012, Darrell and a business partner founded Poplar Global Wealth Management with the goal of providing portfolio management and financial planning services to business owners and affluent households.  In addition, Darrell currently serves as a Board Member of the California Society of CPAs, Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter.  Related to that role, he is also a recognized leader and regular speaker on the subject of “Financial Literacy.”

Sonia Ramos, Executive Director / San Jose California Student Opportunity and Access Program

Sonia Ramos is the Executive Direction of the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP). Cal-SOAP has been dedicated to increasing college access for first-generation and low-income students since 1978. Their goal is to improve the flow of information about higher education and financial aid to families in the Greater San Jose Area. Along with that knowledge, San Jose Cal-SOAP equips students with the right skills and preparation to succeed. Their programs range from workshops on financial aid, to in-class tutoring, to college tours. San Jose Cal-SOAP believes that with the right knowledge and skills, college is more than just a dream, it’s a reality.
