As we all watch the happenings around the world, especially in light of the recent terrorist attacks in France, many different views of how to handle the Syrian refugee crisis have been shared. ABC NEWS published a post on their facebook page the other day asking Should California continue to accept Syrian refugees as Governor Brown publicly announced there would be no threat to our security and we should continue to allow more to into our State. (It should be noted that the States do not have the right to veto the Federal government ruling on this issue.) We shared the ABC News article on our facebook page to see how our local neighbors felt on this issue. From the responses we see that locally we are about as divided on this as we are nationally. Below is the article and the responses from our facebook page (please remember grammar & spelling are not common concerns when posted on social media).

Phil. Governors have no authority on who comes in or out of their state. State lines are for the sole purpose of Taxing. It’s a sad state this country is in to think so many Governors would not know what they are talking about

Christine Who is going to support them financially? They most likely will not speak english, so it will be a long time before they will be able to get a job. I just feel that we need to care for our own first. Like the elderly and vets.
Dirk Not at this time you cannot allow them to come in until we are certain that any background checks can be substantiated. Lets take care of our veterans with the money instead.

Charlotte Yes, some of my family came as immigrants-legally through all the red tape, for a better life, not as terrorists and trouble makers. They did not speak English when they arrived either, but they learned the language because they wanted to become Americans. The terrorists hate Americans, they do not want to become Americans.
