SSFPD Media Release: Arrest Made – Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon, Participate in a Criminal Street Gang, etc.

Information  nc€cl not be released that (I) would endanger the  safety of a witness or other person;(2) would hamper successful completion of the investigation or related investigation ;(3) is an analysis or conclusion of the investigating  officer.   The name and  address of a  victim  ofany crime defined  bJ’ Section 261, 264, 264.1,273a, 273d’,273,5,   286, 288, 288a,289, 422.6, 422.7, 422.75, or 646.9 of the Penal Code may be withheld at the victim’s request or at the request of the victim’s parent or guardian if the victim is a minor.

 

On January 4th, 2016, a gang related assault occurred on the 800 block of Maple Avenue, South San Francisco . The subsequent police investigation led to the identification of three suspects. Two of three suspects were taken into custody days after. The third suspect was identified as Jose Hernandez of South San Francisco. A $250,000 warrant was obtained for his arrest. Initial efforts to locate Hernandez were unsuccessful.

 

On March 15th, 2016, South San Francisco Police Officers, with the assistance of the United States Marshals  Service, located Hernandez on the 300 block of Susie Way.   Hernandez  also had a   separate $150,000 arrest warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and participating in a criminal street gang, a $10,000 arrest warrant for assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, and another $10,000 arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Hernandez was taken into custody for the warrants and he is facing charges for resisting arrest, intimidating a witness, and participating in a criminal street gang.
