Update to the homicide – shooting investigation ….
With the assistance of agents from the San Francisco Field Division Drug Enforcement Administration, and the United States Marshal’s Service, South San Francisco Police investigators obtained information that indicated the suspect, Cristian Omar Cruz, was possibly in the “Seaport” residential neighborhood of Stockton, California. On Apri l 27, 2016 at approximatel y 2:45 am, investigators located Cruz in the identified neighborhood as he was walking down the street and he was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
Cruz was transported back to San Mateo County where he was eventually booked into the County jail on homicide charges. The investigation into the cause of the shooting is continuing at this time. However, this was not a gang or drug related incident, but instead grew out of an on-going personal dispute among the three men that were involved. The suspected firearm that was used during the shooting was also recovered by police.
