South San Francisco, CA April 27, 2016 Submitted by Joe Fragola, Kaiser Permanente
On Tuesday, May 3, the farmers market at Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco Medical Center opens for the season. Come one… Come all to find a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for sale to bring home to share with family or friends and inspire healthy eating.
Among the vendors you will find at the market: Nucha Empanandas, a new hot food vendor offering healthy delicious warm homemade empanadas, a new organic veggie vendor, Asian veggie vendor, two fruit vendors (Terry Farms and Lujan Farms), Granola vendor, Sukhi Gourmet Indian Foods and an organic Strawberry Vendor. You can also buy fresh flowers to add to your homes.
Every week the KP SSF Health Education Department will be hosting an informational table where you can get nutritional tips and great recipes to prepare at home.
The Farmer’s Market is located at the front entrance area of the KPSSF Medical Center, 1200 El Camino Real and is easily visible from the street. Make a note on your ongoing calendars that the market is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., starting May 3 through October this year. And come by each week to shop. This is a great compliment to markets on other days so you can always assure yourself of having farm fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the season.
