Three SSFHS Students Qualify for National Math Contest

Three South San Francisco High School students scored 99 percent on an online mathematics contest and, in doing so, qualified to be on a reserve list for the MathCon national finals at the University of Illinois April 23.

 

The pupils _ Jason Cai, James Fong and Raymond Lin _ were among 31 South San Francisco High School students who participated in the competition. Of those, nearly 23 percent received scores of 91 percent or higher.

 

Those youngsters included: Jia Guo, 93 percent; Jakin Lin, 92 percent; Jesse Angelo Pangilinan, 91 percent; and Abraham Santos, 91 percent. Ansel Policarpio received an honorable mention with an 89 percent score in ninth-grade algebra 2.
