South San Francisco, CA May 30, 2016 by Cicely Hand, Kaiser Permanente Public Affairs Manager
Kaiser Permanente Pediatrician, Dr. Dan Parry, was a big hit with both kids and parents at the annual Junior Giants Kick-off meeting on Tuesday evening, May 31st in South San Francisco. As a doctor who is passionate about health and wellness, Dr. Dan engaged the kids with lots of questions around what are good food choices and where to find healthy foods in the grocery store.
25 hands went up when Dr. Dan asked the question “What are the 3 keys to a long healthy life. “ Each child received a prize for knowing the answers—healthy eating, healthy drinking and exercise.”
Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive and coed baseball program for youths between the ages of 5-18. The program reaches into communities and offers not only the basics of baseball but builds on the four bases of Character Development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork. Every summer, the Junior Giants Programs sells out through the SSF Recreational Department.
