Dr. Shawnterra Moore, Superintendent of the South San Francisco Unified School District, has received a one-year extension of her contract. The new three-year pact runs through June 30, 2019. The agreement was ratified unanimously by the District Board of Trustees during its July 21 meeting. The contract includes a 5 percent 2016-17 salary increase which is the same as that received by other District employees. Dr. Moore was named to the District’s top leadership post last summer.

I thought that the SSFUSD was facing future economic hardships… that cuts are imminent. Why would we give the superintendent a raise?

SSFUSD states there is lack of money for the schools but do find it for pay raises and such for administrative and on the school board. I feel so sorry for the students and faculty at Sunshine Gardens School.

If anyone walks around, the campus needs extreme updating to broken and rusted pipes, a new roof, a bigger office which needs to include a handicap button for it can be accessible to enter the office, a PA system because this school doesn’t have one. The teachers just use a bull horn. How sad is this when we are all living in an age of expensive housing, smartphones, access to internet etc… and this school lacks all the proper infrastructure and updates for the students and teachers.

Those who spend a million dollars on their homes around the Sunshine Gardens neighborhood should be sending their children here but they’re not. Apparently, they are sending them to private schools that have all the current, safe and proper things that a public School doesn’t. If it’s fixed, then they will attend. It’s common sense and hope someone will find the common sense to do something about it as soon as possible.

She is not doing a good job at all. People under her are doing inappropriate things, she is causing race problems, and to boot, she does not return messages. I have known her a while, and although I used to endorse her, she has changed for the worse, and now she is unfit for the position. She has to go. Maybe as bad a Cohen.
