The San Mateo County Superior Court is now accepting applications to serve on the Civil Grand Jury term that runs from 7/1/17 to 6/30/18. The Civil Grand Jury performs a vital independent citizen watchdog function over County and City governments. It chooses its own investigation subjects and publishes reports that highlight findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Interested San Mateo County citizens able to commit an estimated 15 to 20 hours/week to this effort should apply by March 30, 2017. Successful applicants will be interviewed by the Grand Jury Judge and entered into a lottery to determine the 19 members plus alternates.
