The South San Francisco Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred on today’s date, February 12, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m., on Memorial Drive in South San Francisco. The on-going investigation leads investigators to believe the unidentified, elderly female victim, was crossing Memorial Drive, while she was walking in a designated crosswalk. As the victim was crossing the roadway, she was struck by a vehicle.
The driver of the suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene. Witnesses last saw the suspect vehicle make a right tum into the Mayfair Village neighborhood from Orange Avenue. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver in color, 4-door, compact sedan, with possible damage to the front end. The victim has not been identified and is being treated at a nearby trauma center. She is listed in critical condition at this time.
Investigators are asking for the driver of the vehicle to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.
