Sunshine Gardens Elementary School Neighborhood Receives More Stop Signs for Improved Safety

South San Francisco, CA   March 22, 2017 Submitted by Leslie Arroyo, Communications Director City of SSF

As part of continuing efforts to improve traffic safety, the South San Francisco Traffic Advisory Committee approved the installation of three new STOP signs in the neighborhood around Sunshine Gardens Elementary School. The new STOP signs are installed at three intersections on Miller Avenue, in front of the school.

• Oakcrest Avenue & Miller Avenue
• Sequoia Avenue & Miller Avenue
• Westview Drive & Miller Avenue

Temporary warning signs are installed to call attention to the new STOP signs. Please use caution at these intersections while residents become familiar with the new traffic controls.

A STOP sign would be great at Holly & Sunnyside! Not a good corner to cross from Dunnyside onto Holly!!

They missed the boat on these stop signs. What they should have put was one big one on Miller ave at Gardenside. That is where it is needed most, when the high school kids are going 50 mph plus going from El Camino high to Holly ave right after school lets out. Please add I more to this location to keep the neighborhood & kids safe ! This is one of the worst ones in the entire city.
