From San Mateo County:

Come celebrate National Bike Month and participate in the fourth annual Bike to Shop Day on May 27th! Bike to Shop Day is an exciting, one-day event that encourages people to ride bicycles to local businesses in Silicon Valley.

What are the benefits of Bike to Shop Day? This daylong event encourages people to bike when accomplishing their Saturday errands. Bike to Shop Day promotes a healthy lifestyle by increasing physical activity. It also reduces traffic congestion and eliminates greenhouse gas emissions from all of those vehicles that would otherwise be on our streets and circling parking lots. As an added bonus for participating businesses, studies show that people who ride bikes tend to spend more money locally. Since the 2014 launch of Bike to Shop Day, we have seen a dramatic growth in participation of businesses and shoppers.

Now in its fourth year, Bike to Shop Day has grown each year and we are looking forward to a successful event on Saturday, May 27, 2017. But first we need your help!
