Local photographer and South San Francisco resident Mel Ellison has entered one of his captivating seascapes in The Weather Channel Photo Contest that runs through September 1st with daily voting encouraged. “This photo is entered in the Weather Channel 2017 photo contest” Mel writes “I took this last September in Komiža, on the western side of the island of Vis, in the Adriatic Sea, Croatia.”

Mel is an experienced sailor enjoying excursions in near and far off places as he sets his September sails heading to the north east coast of Sardinia with stops in Bonifacio, Corsica. Land exploration will include London, Scotland and Ireland. You can enjoy some of his scenery shared on his website HERE.

Earlier this month Mel won distinction from Adoramapix of this photo below. “I took this off the coast of the Baja California Peninsula, on the way to Cabo San Lucas from San Diego…..during the 2016 Baja Haha Cruiser’s Rally” Mel said.
