October brings fare changes, new parking rates and timetable adjustments to Caltrain

South San Francisco, CA  September 21, 2017  Caltrain Press Release

Starting in October, the cost of a monthly parking pass at Caltrain will be based on 15 days a month rather than ten, increasing the cost from $55 to $82.50. In addition, riders will have to pay an additional 25 cents per zone and the 8-ride ticket will no longer be available for sale and will only be honored until the end of October. All adjustments to the fares can be found here.

These are not the only changes that go into effect October 1, as Caltrain is also tweaking its weekday timetables in order to increase both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The updated timetables can be found here.

The parking increase will be applied to the October permits, which go on sale on Thursday, September 21. Daily parking fees will not be affected by this change.

All-day parking (24-hour limit) is available for Caltrain customers at most Caltrain stations. Higher rates are charged at the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station parking lot during events at the SAP Center.

Caltrain’s Board of Directors approved the increase to fares and parking fees in August of this year, as well as the elimination of the 8-ride ticket due to under use. More information on Caltrain’s parking rules and regulations can be found here.
