The South San Francisco Girl Scout Troop 62133 found support for their donation drive for the Napa Fire Victims from the local Elks this past Tuesday evening at the Lodge’s weekly dinner. This is the first outreach our 5th graders from Buri Buri Elementary School have set up as they realize the fires have left families homeless.  In addition many of those burnt out of their homes are now without work due to the downturn in tourism so it is a double punch for many in the area.

“We have the Boys Scouts up at our Lodge for various events” Elk member Ruth DeNardi said “It is important we also support our Girl Scouts.”

The drive continues through the month and items can be dropped off at all Buri Buri Elementary School classrooms as well as the Colma Floral Shop located at 1360 El Camino Real. Items in need are new toiletry, socks, and other items described in the flyer below.  Items will be donated to Abriendo Puertas, a Napa Non-profit organization.

“Some of our girls representing their Girl Scouts troop at the South San Francisco thanks to the Elks Club, who donated a ton of toiletry items for the girls’ Toiletry Drive benefiting the Napa fire victims and for hosting our event.” Vanessa Sanchez writes.  “The Elks Club contacted our troop after learning about the drive through Everything South City. Thank you Elks Club, and thank you Everything South City for sharing our efforts”
