Early Saturday morning February 17, 2018, South San Francisco Police Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Westborough Boulevard to investigate a head on traffic collision. Arriving Officers contacted 21-year-old Redwood City resident Esteban Figueroa who admitting to being one of the drivers involved in the collision. Officers immediately suspected Figueroa may be under the influence because he displayed the signs and symptoms of being impaired. Figueroa failed a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and it was determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the collision, Figueroa was driving his 2007 Infinity eastbound in the westbound lanes of Westborough Boulevard when he collided with another vehicle. The collision resulted in two Daly City occupants of the other vehicle being injured and transported to San Francisco General Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Figueroa was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for felony DUI. The South San Francisco Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding this collision to call the Department phone at 650-877-8900.
