Mark Nagales For City Council Releases Campaign Video — “A New Voice”

25 June 2018 — South San Francisco, CA: The campaign team of Mark Nagales for South San Francisco City Council has released its first campaign video called, “A New Voice.” The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/rGhDSYVRi4M and https://www.facebook.com/MarkNagalesforSSFCityCouncil/videos/1881143205283437/.

 

The title “A New Voice” refers to the slogan, “Together, we can bring a new voice to South San Francisco.” This is a recurring theme in the campaign, as Mark Nagales promises to bring new energy, a fresh voice, and strong leadership to South San Francisco’s City Council. There are three city council seats in South San Francisco to be decided during the November 6, 2018 election.

 

“A New Voice” introduces Mark’s biography and upbringing in South San Francisco for over 30 years. Photographs of Mark’s childhood highlight his ties to South San Francisco’s local schools: Los Cerritos Elementary School, Alta Loma Middle School, and South San Francisco High School. The video also reminisces about Mark’s days playing baseball from Little League through high school in South San Francisco’s public parks.

 

 

 

“A New Voice,” addresses the difficult challenge faced by Mark and his wife Amy of finding a home to raise their two young children, in the midst of the affordable housing crisis. In the video, Mark comments, “Due to the rising cost of rent, I thought we would have to move away from the place that I’ve loved since childhood. But thanks to a first-time homebuyers program, we were able to stay in South San Francisco.”

 

Mark has drawn on his personal experience to help other working-class families facing similar challenges. As a Planning Commissioner, Mark has consistently advocated for affordable housing. “I am running to ensure that my hometown of South San Francisco remains a safe, prosperous, and vibrant place for all families in our community,” Mark said.

 

Mark’s advocacy and public service background has helped him earn early endorsements from elected officials, community leaders, and South San Francisco residents and business owners.
