Who is Responsible for the Sport Fields in South San Francisco; June 2018 Update from the City and School District

South San Francisco, CA  June 11, 2018  Submitted by City of South San Francisco

The City of South San Francisco has announced a special meeting set for Wednesday evening, June 13th, at 7pm at the MSB for the purpose of the School Board to present an update on projects that have been completed or are currently in the pipeline. It appears most of the projects stem from the Measure J funds and can be seen fully CLICK HERE.

For the past few years South City residents have been outspoken about the shameful conditions of our fields citing deteriorating conditions for decades. There has much anger about the conditions especially in light of the fact our City is recognized as the Birthplace of Biotech now boasting over 200 biotech companies but our City cannot produce safe sports fields for our youth. The upgrades have been well received and the community is being watchful to ensure maintenance is kept up and projects on the drawing board become reality.

Below we are focusing on archiving this information identifying which entity will be responsible for which playing fields per their 2008 joint agreement between the City and School District which appears unchanged:
