Construction alert: PG&E Work to Impact Miller Avenue Starting Tuesday July 31st

SSF Development Projects Under Construction

 

PINEFINO PROJECT (Airport Boulevard @ Baden Avenue)

The contractor will install street light posts along Airport Boulevard, Baden Avenue and Cypress Avenue on Tuesday, July 31 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The sidewalk will be temporarily closed as the contractor erects the posts. The shoulder and parking lanes along the three roads may be affected temporarily during erection to ensure the safety of travelers. Commuters may experience brief traffic delays during this time. Pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes. Please follow all signage and safety personnel instructions.

 

The City of South San Francisco, in collaboration with the project management team from Pinefino, is thrilled to share that this project is very close to completion. The City would like to thank nearby businesses, tenants, and residents for their patience and understanding during construction. ROTARY SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT (310 Miller Avenue)

The sidewalk on Miller Avenue, directly in front of the project site, will remain closed for the duration of construction activity. Construction crews will continue to work on the project daily from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Street parking spaces located adjacent to the former City “parking lot 6” are reserved for construction crew parking only.

 

150 AIRPORT BOULEVARD

Site grading and soil off-haul operations are underway and should be completed by mid-August. Commuters traveling in the northbound direction along Airport Boulevard may experience brief delays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while trucks move into and out of the construction site. Please follow all signage and safety personnel instructions.

 

SamTrans has concluded a bus stop relocation study and will relocate the bus stop in August. The bus stop will move north of its present location at the corner of Airport Boulevard and Baden Avenue, on the other side of the intersection. The existing bus stop will remain in operation during the relocation process with no interruption to service. Bus service users are encouraged to visit the SamTrans website for more information.

 

CADENCE PROJECT (Miller Avenue @ Airport Boulevard)

Throughout July and August, commuters may experience brief delays daily, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, due to material deliveries to the construction site.

 

PG&E will connect gas service to the project on Tuesday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 1st between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work will impact eastbound traffic along Miller Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Cypress Avenue. Westbound access along Miller Avenue will be maintained. There will be no impacts to vehicles using the US-101 off-ramp at Miller Avenue. Please follow all signage and safety personnel instructions.

Other Capital Projects

 

CALTRAIN ELECTRIFICATION AND STATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Construction continues along Poletti Way between Grand Avenue and Corporate Drive at the US-101 northbound off-ramp. Work includes the removal of the sidewalk along Poletti Way. Pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes. Vehicle access to Poletti Way will remain open. Please follow all safety personnel instructions and posted signage.

MISSION & McLELLAN (1309 Mission Road)

Soil off-haul operations are underway and should be completed by the end of August. Commuters traveling along McLellan Drive between Mission Road and El Camino Real may experience brief delays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while trucks move in and out of the construction site. Please follow all signage and safety personnel instructions.

 

SAN BRUNO CANAL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

(South Airport Blvd at North Access Road and 380 Freeway on-ramp)

The San Bruno Canal Bridge remains closed due to the rapidly deteriorating condition of the piles supporting the bridge. Construction to replace the bridge has begun and the new bridge is expected to open by the end of 2018. The City apologizes for the inconvenience this work has caused and is working as quickly as possible to address safety concerns. Public safety is the number one priority. Thank you for your continued patience.

 

Changeable message signs and detour signs are in place. These traffic control devices will be in operation for the duration of the project. Bike path and emergency access will be maintained but vehicles will be rerouted. Please follow all signage and safety personnel instructions at all times.

 

Please note that in an effort to help with traffic congestion, especially in the peak afternoon hours, construction traffic flaggers are present Monday through Friday between 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

Project Status: Demolition of the bridge is complete. The contractor is laying out and installing piles.
