In 2010, the citizens of South San Francisco passed the Measure J Bond. As part of any state bond construction, a citizens’ oversight committee is mandated by law. As stated in the California Education Code, members can serve for a maximum of three two-year terms.

CITIZENS’ BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
The Board of Trustees of the South San Francisco Unified School District is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the Measure J Bond Oversight Committee. Representation is sought in the following areas:
- Representative from a business organization in the District
- Representative from a Senior Citizens’ Organization
- Parent/Guardian of a child in the District
- Parent/Guardian of a child in the District also active in a Parent-Teacher Organization
- Representative of a bona fide Taxpayers’ Organization
