GAME ON Winner Heidi Beck Shares ‘Vacay the Staycay Way’ South City Experiences

South San Francisco, CA   October 1, 2018

“We had a great weekend, and the weather couldn’t have been better!” Heidi Beck exclaimed referring to the special get-away she and her husband enjoyed September 21-23 as they played tourist in our fine City. Heidi and her husband live in neighboring San Bruno yet come to South City regularly. “My good friend lives here and we walk the Bay Trail pretty much each week” Heidi said “Being here playing tourist was great!”

Everything South City hosts regular GAME ON Contests where we ask a question and those who respond are then entered into the game. A winner is randomly chosen by assigning each winner with a number and someone then calls the winning number. This way we can be sure the playing field is level and everyone receives the same chances of winning.

Everything South City continues to cover a good portion of the costs of our GAME ON Contests with appreciation to our wonderful family of advertisers for making that a possibility. We also partner with some amazing local businesses that help make our prizes  and to those great community businesses that offer prizes. For this GAME ON our question was simple; ‘Why do you want to come to South City to play tourist?’ and we received nearly two dozen entries with Heidi being our winner.

Ramada Suites on Airport Blvd provide comfortable accommodations for our out of town guests, with free parking, and they serve a great Continental Breakfast complete with pancakes, waffles and sausages. Remember them the next time you need a local hotel!

To make this Vacay the Staycay Way a real get-away we greatly appreciate Kunal Patel, General Manager of Ramada San Francisco Airport North Suites, for gifting three nights accommodations which allowed our winner to immerse themselves in all that is South City as Ramada Suites are centrally located on Airport Blvd. “From the hotel it’s an easy walk to downtown, and it’s close to the freeway if you want to hop in the car and go anywhere, but we stayed close to South City.” Heidi said “Our accommodations at the Ramada Limited were plain but clean; the bed was super-comfy and the room was quiet, so we slept really well. And we were surprised to find out that the continental breakfast also included some hot food — sausages and pancakes/waffles.”

We also appreciate Mayor Normandy for her part in welcoming our winners to City Hall. “We enjoyed meeting Mayor Liza Normandy and ESC Editor Kamala Silva Wolfe at City Hall and a private tour of the Plymire-Schwarz House.”

Plymire-Schwarz House is located at 519 Grand Avenue and is open every Wednesday from 2pm-4pm thanks to dedicated docents who make this event free to the public. More info please call 650/875-6988 or email info@plymirehouse.org

To ensure our winners had a good time Everything South City gifted them $250 so they could check out some local favorites. “We enjoyed great dinners at Amoura, Nick’s on Grand and 47 Hills Brewing Company. Nick’s just opened this weekend, so we were among the first customers!” And of course time on the Bay Trail continued to call them to visit. “We did a lot of walking around town and along the Bay Trail.”

Antigua is located at 437 Grand Ave and offer everything from breakfast, lunch, small bites and libations – and Live Music and other great community events. To get the latest  follow them on FB HERE!

Everything South City was happy to know they stopped by one of our favorite haunts, Antigua’s on Grand. “We enjoyed coffee and snacks at Antigua, where there was live jazz playing!” Heidi said. “We also made it to Spruce Cafe, where we checked out the charcoal trend with a black latter and the Hokkaido Milk Mille Crepe Cake.”

South San Francisco really is a great City and still holds onto our small town feeling and we are so happy to share it with others. “It was a really relaxing weekend, so thank you Everything South City and contest sponsors for a great time!”
